Nice ambience with great customer service. Several Sushi options and the waiter was nice enough to recommend some options. Great location with ample parking and restaurant space.

Normally 5 stars, but during this quarantine, the delivered food has become very subpar. Twice in one month I have ordered sesame chicken and the chicken pieces are very small and stringy (probably overcooked from being so small). Before quarantine we would get nice big chunks of tender chicken. Maybe new management or current management decided to cut corners to keep prices low, either way, it sucks now.

Not spectacular but a really good Chinese place. My wife ordered the chicken chow mein and enjoyed it. I ordered their shrimp tempura sushi roll and their soft crab sushi roll. Both were large and well made. I'd go here for sushi again.

Food. Tastes great

This is the best Authentic Chinese food in, frankly, the whole state of Texas. They Cook entirely without MSG so it doesn't make you feel Sick after like most Chinese food. I recommend the Seseme Chicken and the Sichuan Beef. But it's all really good. And the coffee is good too, for you Caffeine Junkies.

Ordered through GrubHub, found a thin rubber band in my Mongolian beef! Also forgot my hot mustard, but that is the least of their problems! I Won't rest until I get a full refund!

Food was ok until I bit into a rock pebble. Told the waiter and he asked if I wanted to speak with manager. First of all, who did he tell that he left and came back ?

I had a wonderful dining experience here. We ordered sushi platters as our entrees and it was an astonishing amount for the price. It was very fresh and tasted perfect. I would highly recommend this place to any sushi lover.

We chose this restaurant because of the reviews and we were pretty disappointed. Granted, we ate from the early bird menu, so maybe the food wasn't the freshest, but it was very bland. The chicken stir fry actually tasted like chicken noodle soup, in a bad way. The poo poo platter was pretty good as an appetizer. The ambiance felt a little surreal like a 90s cafeteria. The service was good though!

Extremely delicious! Sushi is always fresh! Sesame anything is phenomenal and my go to, but be sure to order extra sauce as it's great to use for everything! If ordering egg rolls through takeout know that it is just one egg roll so may need to order a few. Have never been disappointed here, staff is always friendly and on par, place is clean, another menu has so many options plus they have specials that are new dishes they are testing out!

Formosa Garden was okay. Nothing that really stood out. I ordered their cucumber salad and usually it's pickled with onion and vinegar based. This had just mayo which I didn't care for. My main dish of tangy chicken was okay but it kind of had a metal taste. My side was steamed rice and an egg roll. The interior was pleasant and clean, they have a bar also. I did enjoy the ice tea. Everyone had their own taste so you'll have to decide if it suits yours. The price for their lunch special was fair $8.25-$8.45. Our waiter was friendly and able to answer questions about the dish I was interested in.

What food is still good here but the place needs to be remodeled this place has been around for a long time and the food is still could they do have a Teppanyaki spot in the restaurant they have a good selection of food the place is getting a four-star review from me because I have history with this place and like I said the food is still good but the place needs to be remodeled needs new carpet and paint and hopefully by then I'm looking at my review then we'll decide to put some money back into the place and make it what it was in the past if they desire to be cheap this place will lose business over time eventually go out of business reinvesting into this place is best way for it to survive which I would love to see it do

Wanted to eat sushi and decided to visit establishment, waiter came gave us our menus and brought our drinks, then they completely forgot about us, my wife had to tell the waiter if someone could take our order, last my bowl of rice was cold, how does this things happen? Very disappointed let me change that to 1 star.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars, they don’t pay attention to order requests. Who eats an egg roll without duck sauce? I keep going back though. The beef lo mein is 5 stars !!

Food is delicious every time. Service is quick. Try the moo shoo chicken, chicken with vegetables, shrimp fried rice or the triple delight. You can't go wrong with any of these dishes. Reasonably priced meals

Lunch is great! The food is really good and service is pretty fast. Prices are not bad for what you get either.

Older location, decoration is very tasteful. Food was pretty tasteful with a simple lunch menu. The smell inside was pretty bad, but i'm assuming it was because of peoples wet shoes on the carpet. Would recommend to friends,family and strangers alike and would probably go back.

Terrible tasteless food. Special fried rice had zero flavor. Appeared to have soy sauce but very bland. Peas were a bit burned and chicken was nowhere to be found. Asparagus beef was basically raw asparagus covered with a saucy beef. Egg roll was tiny. Egg drop soup was the best thing of all of it. Sushi roll had no flavor at all. Just mushy. No lunch menu due to it being New Years Day so paid dinner prices for what appeared to be a lunch portion. What a waste. We used to LOVE coming here! Never again. Restrooms were gross!! I sure hope the kitchen is cleaner than the restrooms are kept. Lights are so dim I could barely read the menu. Maybe they dont want us to see the food. Service was good though. He was nice and attentive. We did opt to just eat what we could, pay the hefty bill and leave quietly without complaining.

LOVE Formosa Garden! The Tangy Spicy Chicken is perfection. The chicken is perfectly moist and the sauce is heavenly. Formosa’s Lemon Chicken is the BEST in town. Unlike other Chinese restaurants, their lemon sauce is light and lemony. The chicken is expertly fried locking in a moist chicken tender. It gets busy during lunches and their prices are very reasonable! They offer delivery through UberEats as well!

Noodles came to us hard from Doordash. So we ordered our food from door dash and not only were we charged an extra 1.50 for the pasta that was said to come to the meal free, but the noodles which came with our order were hard, and stiff as a rock!! I don't know if they thought the noodles would be soft and warm by the time they got to us, but they weren't.

Food and entertainment were great, downfall the service stopped right after the chef stopped cooking

It was good. I might go back. Drinks were awesome. Food was ok. Lots of seating. Parking is ok. Handicap spots. Clean. Bathrooms were not too clean. Waitstaff was friendly. Orders came out in an appropriate time. Habachi cuts off after two tables at one time. Lemon chicken was really tasty.

Been coming here for years and I have yet to be disappointed. Foods fresh and hot when it gets to table. Food comes quick and the staff is very friendly and professional.

Had drove in from Houston and decided to have lunch here as I used to live in San Antonio and frequented this restaurant. Very good attentive service and food is good. Hot and sour soup not as good as I remember. Has the receipt changed?

During the quarantine period, I’ve ordered twice and both times the food was dry and with no flavor. Fried rice seemed to be from the day before, no taste and very dry. Food shrimp, chicken and beef had no seasoning and sauce was like jelly. I’ve been ordering and going to this restaurant for years and food was great but something changed.... I will wait for the dine in to eat from this place. Also the lady the answers the phone is either her first time working there or was nervous and/or stressed that Day. while placing the order through the phone, she asks ‘can i place you on hold?’ And before you answer she already did. Either way, thank you for your service. Will see you when Dine in is open!

It's a nice place, the food was really good and filling. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Expect to wait to be seated when eating here at lunch time (1pm), however, the wait time is not bad, we waited 5-10 minutes to be seated. Will definitely come back and eat here.

We did the hibachi grill for my son's birthday. The chef was hilarious and the food was amazing. They charged auto gratuity for the hibachi service but it was well worth it. The food in the main restaurant is also very good. Try the sushi. You have to call in advance and reserve the hibachi, and the dinner takes about 2 hours from start to finish.

We did take out and that was the nastiest food I’ve ever had. The sushi was so warm you’d think it was sitting out all day. I got a spicy tuna and it tasted spoiled. The only thing that was good was the fried rice. Will never order from here again. Also, 3 people including myself at the food. 2 out of 3 have been throwing up since we ate it and the other person is on the couch not feeling well.

I had a quick lunch with my sister who works a few blocks from this restaurant. Very fast service. Food was great too

The Pan fried dumplings are some of the best in San Antonio, And even if they've removed an item from the menu they're still willing to make it.

The worst experience. This was my first time ordering from this business and will not order again. I placed an order with Uber Eats for teriyaki chicken, fried rice and crab wontons. The only item that was correct in my order was the fried rice. The "crab won tons" were simply fried puffs, in which they gave me 3 bags of those tasteless items and the "teriyaki chicken" was in no shape or fashion teriyaki chicken. I will be requesting a refund

The Peking Duck is amazing! The Chicken Lettuce Packet is flavorful and just the right spicy. If you get Destin as your server, bonus points! Best place for Mother's Day!

Our first impression walking in the entryway was of an old dark building, not very well-maintained. Very old, faded chairs and dirty carpet. It was very dingy looking and we were tempted to turn around and go elsewhere but thought we would give it a try. The lemon chicken was ok, but small & thin pieces. The egg rolls were small, tough and greasy. The cheese puffs were definitely not puffy, they were very flat and greasy, and the rice was sticky.The service was very good, good iced tea, so was the General Tso's Chicken, and the food came out fast. I had wanted to go there for years, but sadly was very disappointed.

Formosa is a local institution and the restaurant is being kept updated and always nice. I have been going there for over 15 years and the food is usually good. Unfortunately lately I have not been able to get a lemon chicken or a Pad Thai that doesn't have undercooked chicken or and also the turnover on the wait staff has been noticeable with the service not as good as a few years ago. Hopefully it's a temporary situation and they will get back to being a 5 star place soon!

Oriental dishes are prepared and served in oriental style and flavor. This place is very clean and professionally managed. You are treated with honor and respect. If you are wanting a romantic place with great food, look no further. There's plenty of parking and handicap friendly. Washrooms are clean. Wine and other spirits are served. There is a bar with a bonitified bar tender. Cash and credit cards are welcomed. Prices are reasonable especially during early bird menu. Dining room is dimly lit and conversations are at a whisper. No loud talking or shouting. The only awful thing about this restuarant is that it is not on the "Riverwalk". Good Chinese dishes. Dress is casual but in good taste. Take out is available.

Quick service. Good quality at a very reasonable price. Second time here for lunch. Will come for dinner sometime.

First time there. We are not from here so it's really different here when we order takeout. But the food was awesome.

From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, it smelled like dirty mop water...Food was decent. Definitely did not expect the chicken chow mien to be chicken with mixed vegetables and friend wonton soup. If you just want a cheap Chinese meal experience, then this is the place for you...

Good portions for lunch, my General Tso's chicken was good and prices were very reasonable.

Came in for lunch and we were very pleased with everything. We were seated immediately, which is wonderful considering it was the lunch hour. Our waiter took our orders quickly and we received our food in no time. I ordered the chicken in garlic sauce with rice and an egg roll. I also ordered a soup, which I chose hot and sour, which was very tasty. I loved the fact that we were in and out in no time since we were on time constraints because of the lunch hour. Can't wait to go back

IM SO DISAPPOINTED my husband likes this place but I hate it. They refuse to give extra lemons with the lemon chicken they are so cheap they try to give you limes. I even offered to pay extra the meat was so dry and the last 2 times we ordered they forgot soy sauce. I literally threw my whole meal away last night. I can not stand this places food or rude service. They will not fix or refund an order EVER!

The food is always amazing. I love the sushi here. The staff is always great. I've never had any issues. This is a place I always want to go when we eat out.

You can order from lunch menu online but it says it comes with tea. We get there and nope it doesn’t. He says they need to change their website and insists on no tea included. Really? Tea costs you like NOTHING. So dumb.

Best Chinese food in town. Triple delight is the best here! Good service as well. My favorite in San Antonio!

Fresh sushi, decent portions, pleasant service. Went at 6pm on a weekday and it wasn't busy. Will def go again.

Always amazing food! This time I had the Caterpillar roll, delicious. My mom got the sesame shrimp, my niece the sesame chicken, my sister the beef a d broccoli and my dad got the chicken pad thai. Everyone was very happy with their meal. If you're a fan of hot green tea do not pass it up here they have some of the best!

Here are some menu items: California rolls, lemon chicken, triple delight, Mongolian beef,asparagus beef with the specialty fried rice. Some of my favorite plates include the Emperor's fish, Mongolian beef, triple delight and almond chicken!

I love this place. I have had the sushi rolls many times and they make them the best here. The menu has quite a good selection and prices are reasonable.

Formosa Garden has been one of my favorite restaurants for 25+ years. The food is consistently excellent. It is frequented by numerous ethnic Chinese, which is a clear indication. Excellent staff and owners, always dedicated to the best quality food and service.
